Ok, it is not what you think.
This is Michigan singer/songwriter Drew Nelson and I after his very intimate performance at Josh Rose's house this past winter.
While at the party, Drew and I got to reconnect briefly. I had met Drew many years prior at an event at One Trick Pony. And I am still captivated by his music after all these years.
On this night he performed many new songs from his newly released CD, Immigrant Son.
The disc is a nice collection of honest tunes that reflects this artist's knack for good lyrics. I really loved hearing Lovely Day performed live at the Rose's house on that cold winter night. (I was with my good friend Mary...she is a huge local music fan.)
It was a terrible snow filled night but people still braved the nasty winter weather to attend what became one of my favorite nights of live music.
As I drove home I could not help thinking more people should open their homes up to live music....Hell, opening your home to any art form is always a good thing.
...just be sure to include a copy of Immigrant Son, too.
